Gangsta granny movie and book

I liked the movie better than the book because I could see Ben and his parents, granny and what they looked like.I fond that the movie was more entertaining. The movie and book were funny and dramatic.

E.O.T.C week

Monday: mini master chef and first aid .

We all got put in to groups for mini master chef  and then we had to choose a person in our team to pick out a number from Miss Huls hat to decided what are team was going to make. I was the person in our team to pick out the number Nisha,Ayla , Olivia. I got number seven which was vegetable cake it had mushrooms, capsicum. We had a first aid lesson after lunch. We went over banding and Doctor a b c. 

Tuesday: Rock wall, team building.

The year six class walked to the park beside the Recentre . Firstly we all did some team building games like when we were all holding on to a side of a parachute thing there was about 5  different colours we played a shark game when 4 -5 people went under the parachute and the rest of us sat down with half of our body under it then there was 4-5 people walking around the side and when someone started together piled under there had to they to help them.
Wednesday: art, abseiling [ Devils bridge road]
The parents drove us in there cars to Devils bridge road and the rest of us stead at school with 3 parents making clay thing . When we got to Rob the abseiling and rock wall instructor at the place we were doing it. I was the second girl to go Courtney was the first girl it was so much fun and at the end I even got another turn.   
Thursday:Swimming and team building games
 When we got to the pool we went strata to the changing rooms  then we got put into group and then we went in the pool I was in the group when you had to put life jackets. We did some stuff like having to pill each over in from the pool with a rope it was cool I did it with Ellie.

Keeping Ourselves Safe Term 4 2015

Zoe and Aroha are walking home from the dairy eating ice creams. Up ahead of them they notice an unfamiliar car parked at the side of the road. As they approached  a woman winds down the window and calls the girls over. Relucantly they approached the car. Hi girls.  How are you today? the lady called were fine thanks,'' the girls replied. they look like yummy ice creams. Your mum just called me to come and pick you up because she isn't feeling well.'' 
Zoe and Aroha looked at each other and decided to say, "Thank you for telling us but we are fine walking."
Zoe and Aroha started walking home and the woman started to follow them, so Zoe and Aroha asked the woman, "Do you have proof that our mum is sick and that she said to pick us up because we don't know you?" The lady didn't answer them.
 They called their mum on their cellphone and said, "Did you ask someone to pick us up from the dairy? There is a lady saying you sent her to pick us up, but we don't know her." 
Their mum said no and told the girls to go and wait inside the dairy until she got there to pick them up. 

This term we have been learning about Keeping Ourselves Safe. It is not safe to get into a car with a stranger.

The first apparitions of Mary

There was a girl called Bernadette she was born in 1844 January the 7th and died on the 16 of April 1879.She lived in Lourdes.When all Bernadette's family finished dinner on Thursday before Ash Wednesday, Bernadette's mother asked to talk with her children and said that they ran out of wood in the house. Bernadette and her sister,Toinette and a neighbor friend,Jeanne Abadie, walked to the river gave to collect wood. They had to cross a canal cold water. Fearing that she would fool in and die.When she got to the other side of the gave they sore wood so they collected it all and brought it home when there all was on there way home Bernadette herd a noise like a storm but she couldn't see what it was but then she sore Mary the mother of Jesus so Mary walked with her.

Her white hair looks like snow, when she scratches the brassies of hair on her chin i hear them move up and down. The smell of cabbage luggers around the room going up my nostrils .Gangster granny loves cabbage but instead of making chocolate cake she makes cabbage cake that tasted delicious until you deceiver that there is cabbage in it,  

The Annunciation

The Annuciation is when God sent an angel to Mary and the Angel said to Mary, "You are going to have a baby boy, his name will be Jesus .This will be a very special baby. He will be King to his kingdom and it will be the kingdom of God." The Angel also said that Mary's cousin will have a baby too, so Mary rushed off to tell her cousin that she was going to have a baby too. 

My Highlights this term

My highlights this term have been doing different codes of art 

and getting closer to classmates. Other highlight of mine is that I love how everyone in year 6 has their very own talent.   

My challenge this term have been getting all my work completed, to a high standard.

I have learnt how to work in a big group of people,all work together at the same time. 

Next term I'm look forward to having new people in year 6 and doing lots of different things.

My Learning next steps

I have assessed my own work in reading, writing and maths (fractions), and set myself some next steps:

Reading: Read a wide variety of texts at home.

Work on skimming and scanning.

Writing: Use appropriate punctuation independently.

Spell most high frequency words correctly. Attempt paragraphing.

Maths: Find fractions of a set where numerator is bigger than.1.

Re

We have been learning about how we come to know God through Jesus Christ. In the Bible story Good News, God wants us to do the right thing. It's not always easy to do the right thing, but we have to try. We learn through Jesus that God loves us so much , he sent his son to make things right again.

God and the moon

A long time ago lots of people didn't know about the moon or God. Most people thought that the moon was a block of cheese. Everyone looked through telescope to see if they could see the moon and they saw that the moon was not a block of cheese it was grey and had rocks on it . God is like the moon, God made the universe that we live in right now and He made all the food, fruit . In the beginning no one knew anything about God and the moon the moon and God are the same because no one knew what they were but know they do. 

Book Review

Book: Victory and the All Stars Academy by Stacy Gregg

This is a book in a series by Stacy Gregg, and I have read about seven others. I like this series because it is dramatic and it is about horses.

At the beginning of the story, Isodora, the main character, goes to Australia to compete in a competition at Haven fields. 

Isodora is the main character in all the books. She is funny, intelligent and loves horses.

In Australia, Isodora competes in the horse riding competition and her team wins. 

The drama in this story is that they find a puppy and there all think that he killed some sheep, what he actually didn't kill any  sheep, but they didn't know that. Until Isodora went to go and fined the puppy because he ran away when she gets to the blueberry paddock she sees the puppy herding the sheep up like a sheep dog but he wasn't herding them up to kill them he was protecting them from the big dog looking at Isodora.

I recommend this book to anyone who likes horses and animals and stories with drama.

What African art is

African art is bright and beautiful it makes me feel like i am in the sun because the sun is very hot and very bright. My whole class did one I did one with my

 friend Nisha and this is what we come up with.We all used bright colors on our art today . African art has been around for over 2000 years.

WHY WE SHOULD HAVE A DOG AT SCHOOL

I think we should have a dog at school because it makes the room feel like home and people in the class can go and read to the dog without someone saying that you are bad at reading. When you have  dog in the classroom it helps people work by keeping the class calm. We had Jazz visit our class. She is an eight year old Irish Wolfhound cross. We made some guidelines for having dogs at school- you can read them on our Year 6 Blog. 

Cross Country 2015

I liked that I tried my very best on

Probably the start of the hill.

Definitely the start of the race.

I came fifth/

How puffed were you at the end of your race ?

I felt like I was going to die.

God Of Wonders

I see God in this photo because I see God in every animal in the world. He made all the animals in the world special in their own way. God made the animals shine in the beauty of the Earth.

If you look with eyes and faith you can see god.

The morning is as cold as ice.

All the animals are still tucked

up in there warm beds. I can

see my breath before me in the

early bright light of the morning.

When the animals wake up I see

there eyes open and see the

enormous  blue sky above

I get to go and train all the

beautiful animals I love it

because I get to see them

all the time but I love getting

to know the animals my self

and seeing what there can

achieve in life. My favorite

animal to train is my amazon

horses because I get to ride

them and teach them new

one and I feel her, my body

going with her. When I ride

her I can feel the saddle

under me it feels like a

Holiday highlight

   In the holidays, on the second week ,Nisha ,Abigail and I went to a horse riding clinic .A horse riding clinic is when you ride horses and you get to know your horse and hopefully learn something . 

We all spent three whole days there but we all come home at night.The horse riding clinic started every day at 9.00am -3.00pm but on the last day we finished at 2.00pm because we had afternoon tea. On the last day we did some bare back riding and some swapped  horses if we wanted to.

I really liked see all the people and there horses it was a great experience .

Highlights of Term 2

Term 2 has been busy and fun. I liked this term because we got a new rat called Spaghetti. Freddy died, he was as big as Eddy and we have still got Eddy. Spaghetti is very cute and nice to hold.  We have workshops now. We have been doing the workshops for two terms now, so we all know where to go and what to do. The last two terms we have started a new system with computers. We have the timetable on the board and on the teaching and learning site.

Just a dream

I stepped out of my door and saw dirty smelling rubbish. I felt like I was in the rubbish bin in my house. There was no one in sight ,my feet were sinking into all the rubbish. I felt I was in quicksand.All I saw was broken up cars. I hopped into a car that was not as broken as most of the cars. I could see,but for some reason the car was not turning on, so I hopped out started to walk.I yelled out but no one was there.Then I saw some people come out from some of the houses with bags and they said to me,Go into my house and get some bags to put all of the rubbish in."e 

science Investigation

In science I did a balloon car with Rhea and I am going to tell you a bit about what we found. 

Our question was "does the amount of balloons used have an impact on how far the car travels?"

Our results show that the  more balloons that you have on the back of the balloon car the further it travels.   

Phoebe

Phoebe was a good caring person. Phoebe had a friend called Paul and Paul knew  that he could trust her with anything.  

Phoebe and Paul worked together and Phoebe and Paul  were building the Church.

Paul liked to talk about the Gospel.

Paul saw Phoebe as himself.

  

  

Chapter Summaries- Fantastic Mr Fox

                  Fantastic Mr.fox          

chapter 1

In Fantastic Mr. fox there are three main characters called farmer Boggis the chicken  farmer,farmer Bunce the duck and goose farmer  and farmer Bean the turkey and apple farmer .All of them aren't nice at all.

chapter 2

On a Hill above the valley there  was a hole inside of the hole lives Fantastic Mr.fox and Fantastic Miss Fox and four little foxes. every night Mr fox would go out to the farmer's houses and go get whatever Miss fox told him to get for dinner. If Mr Boggis was hiding behind his Chicken House waiting for Mr fox to come but Mr fox was too smart for Mr Boggis Mr fox would use his nose to smell him out.  

Chapter 3

Miss fox  wanted some food for dinner so Mr fox went and got some from Bunces farm.Mr fox could smell guns a mile away.The three farmers           were wating a side of the hole.

                              

Chapter 4

Well the Three farmers were digging into Mr foxs house the 4 little foxes and Mr fox and Miss foxes were all digging as fast as they can so  the machine cannot catch up to them.

Chapter 5

The machines were both black the three framer didn't give up they knocked all the trees that they could find.

Chapter 6

The three farmers were having a race who can chop the most trees done the race went on for hours .

Chapter 7

The three farmers didn t give up they said to each over Mr fox we will never never give up.

Chapter 8

The three farmers hop back into their machines at night and went to look for Mr fox and his family.

Chapter 9

Down in the hole Mr fox and Mrs fox and there 4 little foxes were all slowly but surely starving to death even just a little drop of water they would be grateful for .

Chapter 10

This time Mr fox and the 4 little foxes

have to be very carefully thing to get so food and water.

Chapter 11

One of the little foxes ran back through the tunnel and didn't stop he ran all the way back to bring his mum because she was starving.

Chapter 12

Mr fox and the three remaining small fox’s dug fast and straight. All a sudden a deep voice above Mr foxs head said’ who goes there it was a badger and the badger with a baby badger.     

Chapter 13

The badger was hungry so Mr fox took them to Bunces chicken house and got about 10 chickens. Following them behind them was the three little foxes.

Chapter 14

Just one more visit to the chicken house Mr fox and Badger said to each other. Five minutes later,Mr fox and Badger found the chicken house but there was something in front of the chicken house.

Chapter 15

Mr fox examined the wall carefully and a head popped  out of the gap drunk rat and the rat said to Mr fox Go away I got here first the rat said to Mr fox.

Chapter 16

Mr Fox and Badger sure beans wife and she is fat and not nice at all but luckily she did not see them.

Chapter 17

Badger and the 3 foxes and Mr Fox were carrying food and water done into the hole where everyone was wating for them to bring the food and the water.

Chapter 18

While the Foxes were eating food and drinking water the 3 farmers were playing

with their guns and sitting on stools.

I liked this book because it made me laugh , it wasn't to hard for me to read.  The book had good expression ,a family of foxes and baby foxes that were so cute in the book .

My Weekend

In the weekend on Saturday I got picked up by Emma and her dad at 7.45 to go to a horse riding competition in Pleasant Point. But Emma's dad did not take me and Emma all the way out to Pleasant point our riding instructor Tina  picked us up from the diary in western  so me and Emma hoped into Tina's new car and we checked on Amber while Tina was in the shop getting food for the long trip up to Pleasant point. When we got there Amber my horse as a bit nervous but i came 21 out of 30 there was about twelve people there and about 9 of them were getting led around but I was not getting led around.  

The Early Christians

The early Christians had to find a place

to pray because if one of the soldiers

found them they would be killed because

they believed in Jesus. The Christians had

the body and blood of Jesus and the Jewish people did not like this.

In our class we have a new member he is fast , funny , brown and tiny  he is also hard to hold he is getting use to the noise and all of the children around him all of the time. Miss Huls has had a bad and scary experience with him all ready at her house on Monday when Miss Huls brought him to her house from Timaru she let Eddy and Spaghetti in her bathroom to run around so Miss Huls came back in a couple of hours and she could see Eddy but not Spaghetti so she called her mum to help her to look for him. But they could not find  him anywhere so her mum  went back home so Miss Huls was crying because she fort that her cat or Eddy mite of eat him but there was no blood anywhere but just to be safe she put her cat outside and capped on look for him and then she heard something in her bathroom wall so she went back in there and looked in the cabinet and there was a hole in it so Miss Huls put her finger in to the hole and she felt something smooth and warm so Miss Huls went and got some banana and put it up the hole and Spaghetti tired to bring the banana up the hole with him but he didn't get it up the hole because Miss Huls did not let him get it up the hole  about an hour later Miss Huls got him out .                   

A Day in the Life of a Teacher

                                                                                                            My eyes were just about burst and my arms were all numb because all the children were poking me at the same time. 
I slowly closed my eyes and said, "Shush, all of you, and stop poking me like I am a pin cushion OK."
All of the children stayed away from me because my face was as red as a tomato and was so angry.
I can't wait for this day to be over!
